DICOMAnon Cloak

The DICOM cloak feature anonymizes the files in the normal specified manner but allows for complete identity recovery with a key. The cloak embeds an encrypted account of all DICOM modifications made using the 256-bit Rijndael specification. The files are then able to be transported, viewed, and manipulated as regular DICOM files with the confidentiality elements anonymized.

If the key is sent to another party running DICOMAnon, an “uncloak” can be performed in which the files are reidentified. During reidentification, all embedded elements are decrypted and restored to the files.

If a user has the encryption key, the cloaked files can be restored.
